Houmous is a classic dip that never fails to impress! It's so simple yet packs a punch and can be devoured with pretty much anything. Once you've mastered your basic houmous recipe, you can start experimenting with pimped up versions. I've chosen to share my avocado houmous recipe with you because it's one of my favourites! I add a little bit of Greek style yogurt to give it that tang and sprinkle with Sumac for that unique lemony note. It's smooth, creamy and of course, healthy, need I say anymore?
Serves: 3-4 | Total time: 15 minutes
- 1x 400g can of Chickpeas (rinsed thoroughly in a colander)
- 1 large Avocado
- 1 small garlic clove (minced)
- 2tbsp Greek style yogurt
- 1 tbsp of Tahini
- 1 lime
- Sea salt to season
- Sumac to garnish at the end
- Extra virgin olive oil to drizzle over at the end
Add all your ingredients into a food processor (or pestle & mortar and do a bit at a time) and blend until smooth. Check for seasoning and adjust accordingly. Pour out into a serving bowl, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with sumac. Enjoy!
